Young Carers Service

Carers Hub Lambeth provides specialised support for young carers, defined as individuals aged 5 to 21 who assist in caring for a family member or friend with an illness, disability, mental health issue, or addiction.

The services are designed to address the unique challenges faced by young carers, offering them a safe space to connect, learn, and grow.

• 1-2-1 Support - Tailored support for young carers, focusing on their individual needs, whether educational, emotional, or practical.

• Peer Support Groups - Regularly scheduled groups where young carers can meet others in similar situations, share experiences, and build friendships.

• Social Activities - A variety of fun and engaging activities during school holidays, including outings, workshops, and creative projects.

• Homework Clubs - Dedicated sessions for young carers to receive support with their schoolwork in a quiet and encouraging environment.

• Whole Family Approach - Support that extends to the entire family, recognising that improving the well-being of young carers often involves addressing family needs.

• Educational Support - Assistance in navigating school challenges, including communication with teachers and ensuring appropriate support is in place.
