South London Cares is a community organisation of people aged 65 and over who get together with their neighbours, in their 20s and 30s, to share time, friendship and fun across Lambeth and Southwark. We have around 20-25 Social Clubs every month, held across the two boroughs, including; dances, technology workshops, chair yoga and visits to local galleries and museums. Every clubs is completely free to attend all you need to do is call us up to let us know you're coming. If you're interested in meeting a younger neighbour, but perhaps can't get out and about, we can match you up, one-to-one, with a volunteer through our Love Your Neighbour programme. Once you're matched up with a volunteer they would visit weekly for a catch up and a cuppa. Every winter, from October - March we run our Winter Wellbeing project where we hope to help people, aged over 65 in Lambeth and Southwark, keep warm, active, healthy and connected. We can deliver blankets and warm items to your door, if you're feeling the cold. We have Winter Grants for people facing difficult circumstances over the winter months and we work closely with other organisations who can help with benefits advice and energy saving.
Disabled access: As We Use Many Venues Please Call Us To Check Which Venues Are Disabled Access.
If you'd like to come along to Social Clubs please give us a call, we can sign you up to our Social Clubs mailing list so you receive our programme each month in the post. We can also get you started with the Love Your Neighbour programme or support
The address for our social clubs can be found within the programme. We use a number of different venues across Lambeth and Southwark.
Is this service for you? Our programmes are open to people who are aged 65 and over. We can only accept people living in Lambeth and Southwark for the Love Your Neighbour programme and Winter Wellbeing project. However, if you live further afield but
